The Power of Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera has powerful properties and is often overlooked – so, we’re going to give it a well earned spot light here.
Aloe Vera has a calming effect on irritations, sunburn, bites and stings and it’s anti-oxident properties make it a great anti-ageing ingredient. It’s a plant which is versatile in both its health giving benefits as well as in the way it can be used.

When used externally for skin and hair care, it replenishes moisture levels and sends nutrients to sub-dermal levels and is absorbed into the hair shaft. It has superb anti-inflammatory properties so is great as a weekly face mask especially on spotty, irritated skin. It’s antiseptic and calming effects also make it a perfect toner.
It’s lesser known use in shaving preparations give wonderful results for those prone to razor rash. Use during the shaving process with a light shaving oil and then again – neat – after shaving. Once thoroughly absorbed into the skin, follow with a moisturiser.
Nature’s Parlour has a selection of products available for sale which canbe obtained from the Aloe Vera section of the Parlour

Because of my curly beard growth and sensitive skin, I’m prone to ingrown hairs after shaving. I use organic aloe vera gel as a post-shave balm, which soothes my skin wonderfully.

Aloe is a great product, but if you want something that goes way beyond that, then you’ll want to check out a product called Redneck Remedy. Don’t laugh, this stuff works. It’s simply the best after sun product you can buy. I know, cause I’m the pharmacist who developed it. After seeing so many people come in the pharmacy with severe sunburns, I decided to develope a product that would simply blow the others away. This is our 3rd year and we’ve seen tremendous results with it on a local level. For more info check out our website at http://www.redneckremedy.com.

Glenn.
Did you ask Nature’s Parlour’s permission before placing your “advert”? I’m active on a number of forums and blogs, and must say that it’s pretty bad form to spam or shill in this way. This is a natural skin and hair care blog, and I’m not sure your product qualifies, given that in contains Lidocaine.
You should probably remove it now.

The Made from Earth PURE ALOE Treatment is what I’ve been looking for for a very long time. Its pure Aloe Vera without all the chemicals.
If you read the ingredient lists on your regular aloe vera lotion / gel that you can buy in any grocery store, there are always chemicals added to make the aloe vera juice into a gel. Made from Earth’s Pure Aloe Vera Treatment does not contain these additives – What you get is pure aloe vera – aloe vera in nature. It goes on your skin nicely and sinks in completely without the residue that you get from commercial gels. Wonderful product! Keep it in your fridge to prolong its shelf life and to add to its skin cooling! I’m hooked and won’t buy any other aloe vera product anymore.
You can find them at http://www.madefromearth.com

Thank you for the information Pauline. Is it really $40 for 2oz though? It seems a bit pricey for pure aloe vera.

The product you’ve advertised looks good in terms of ingredients, but is not “pure aloe vera” as you’ve stated. I’m glad you’re able to afford to pay that amount for what is effectively Aloe vera with essential oils…….

Could I ask you to kindly make sure of your information placed on the web for all to see. One would like to know that the information placed on websites is reliable and true, otherwise it makes one think twice, or even give the site a miss concerning any information placed. I’d like to mention that the photograph you have listed as Aloe Vera, is not even of the Aloe family, and request either a placing of the correct image or none at all. Kind thanks.

Hi Cummings
Thank you for so kindly bringing this to our attention. As far as we are aware, this is a picture of an aloe vera plant. I should add though that our area of expertise is in hair and beauty, rather than botany so we could very well be mistaken.
I’d appreciate it if you could post an image of an aloe vera plant that we could use.
With thanks in advance,
Xina

This is a great post about aloe vera. But the picture is an agave plant, not an aloe vera plant! (They do look a lot the same.)
