HI, i have just stumbled upon this website and have had a good read through the comments above, well im sooo confused about what i should be doing for my daughters hair and what products to use.....Her father is black african and im white british, I'd say her hair was more afro then european, its pretty dry and has very tight curls, looks lovely when wet and combed but as soon as it drys it looks dull, then gets extremely fluffy and tatty looking, she is 16 months old so gets all sorts in her hair at dinner time, but like you have said earlier to try to limit hair washing but im having to do it every other day, have you got any suggestions on what i can do?? Im also on a very tight budget and ive seen that the curly Q products have a very high review from many people but i really can not afford these products. So if anyone could give me any advice on any products i'd be very grateful, oh also what hair styles can i try on her hair that dont take to long to do as she wont sit still at all. Thank you.

Hi,

I have a mixed-race 5 year old, mother European and father Caribbean. My daughter has so much hair. It looks so sleek and long when I wash it in the bath. It's very curly and gets very frizzy. I can plait but it's so tedious as she has so much hair. I cannot manage the corn-rows so I have given up now. I would like to leave her hair naturally curly now and again without having to plait it every week. How can I avoid the hair getting matted and tangled if I were to leave it curly. I would like to know if I should let it dry naturally or bow-dry it. When she wakes up what kind of a comb should I use to make it look neat again. Please help me.

Hiya, my two daughters are mixed raced (afro caribbean/indian) and father (white). My eldest daughter has very loose european curls but sometimes gets a little frizz on the ends of her hair. Whilst youngest daughter's hair is similiar to mine, tighter curls but when her hair is washed, her hair is way down her back. However, when dry her hair springs right back upto her shoulder. Could you give any advise on how to keep hair the length it is when wet. She would love her hair out like her sisters but it does'nt look tidy. So i plaited into for four squares or two bunches. I tried putting her hair into corn row but her hair is really soft and silky, and comes out. What product would you recommend for my little one and would it stop her hair shrinking.

My mixed daughter is now 3 and has a combination of frizzy, dry hair which becomes easily matted, and shiny, tight curls. She hates having her hair 'done' at all - washed, brushed, tied into bunches etc. I am at a bit of a loss as to what to do, although I only wash and condition it once a week (or thereabouts), comb it and leave the conditioner in, for the few hours after it's washed it looks beautiful, but quickly resorts to a frizzy mass after one night's sleep... I haven't tried brushing it as am not sure which type brush to use and whether it wouldn't just ALL go frizzy once curls are brushed out. Any advice gratefully received!! Thank you!

Hello Amanda

The Blended Cutie & Curly Qs products will help your hair to remain healthy, promote scalp health with good ingredients, increase moisture and moisture retention and therefore you should see less breakage and better length. You will also need to drink plenty of water, eat healthily (to ensure you have plenty of nutrients going to your roots) and you'll have to be careful not to break your hair when combing it.

You could give the Blended Beauty Straightening Glaze a try for when you're straightening your hair.
